SANTA ROSA, Sonoma County — October 26, 2026. A new round of overnight traffic restrictions on State Route 12 is planned to begin Tuesday, October 27. Caltrans District 4 says crews will apply permanent road striping along roughly five miles of recently paved highway between Fulton/Wright Road and Farmers Lane.

The work window is 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, with the project expected to continue through Friday, November 20. One lane can close in each direction while the striping is completed, but Caltrans says the road will be open for two-way traffic during daytime hours and weekends.

Why the schedule matters to neighborhood travel

SR-12 serves traffic through central Santa Rosa and links residential neighborhoods, stores and workplaces. An advance report of a planned lane closure should not be mistaken for a complete highway shutdown or a statement about a specific incident. Temporary delays are possible, and drivers should slow down near maintenance personnel and equipment.

All dates remain subject to weather and field conditions. Monitor Caltrans QuickMap for current road status. Primary notice: Caltrans District 4, October 22. This update is published in Santa Rosa News.
